"I Want a President..." is a project created by one of LIT's 2020 Artist-Activist Fellows Mikey Cody Apollo. The project was inspired by the 1992 poem of the same name written by artist Zoe Leonard. The goal of the project is to get folks talking about voting, elections, leadership, and change. The final video for the fellowship project, “I Want a President,” was my own. I wrote this poem with everyone I love on my mind and heart.
